Welcome to the website The Reformation in Poland – it is the collection of one of the biggest private collection in Poland of books about the history of the reformation in Poland. We have almost 200 books, in which are some rare from XIX century and the beginning of the XX century.
Our goal is popularization of the knowledge about the beginning of the reformation in Poland, this is why we show our collections in the Internet and live exhibition together with a lecture. Our plans are not only making the collection bigger and bigger, but also increasing the number of the exhibitions so more and more people can become familiar with the heritage of the reformation.

The history of the reformation in Poland, similar to the history of other European countries dates back to the first half of the XVI century. In Poland fast started penetrate ideas of Martin Luther, John Calvin and Miguel Servet. Close associate to John Calvin was a Pole – Jan Łaski, who was a pioneer of the reformation in France and helped to strengthen the reformation in England. Jan Łaski wrote own catechism, which later became the base of "Catechism of Heidelberg", applicable in Evangelical Reformed Church. He was commemorated in famous monument of the Reformation in Geneva.
Mennonites showed up in Poland in the mid-XVI century. Czech Brethren had two emigration waves: in the mid-XVI century and in the first half of the XVII century, then to Poland came John Amos Komensky. An important was 1564, when there was a division of the Calvinism in Poland and separating of Polish Brethren. A few years later the head of Polish Brethren became an Italian reformer – Faust Socyn.
